November 12-20 is the week in the United States when we remember those in our country who are struggling with food insecurity and/or having decent shelter.
Please see hhweek.org for national statistics on hunger and homelessness.
In Waynesboro, the poverty rate hovers around 15-20%. That means 1 in 5 of our neighbors live in poverty. Also, Waynesboro Public Schools indicates that over 50 of our students are homeless.
Please help our unsheltered and food deprived neighbors and children have enough food and a “WARM” place to stay during the cold months.
